Richie Anderson came out as gay in 2018 and since 2012 he is only related to his boyfriend, Dean Eagles.
He revealed himself as gay to his teammates after a football game as part of a video for BBC’s The One Show that highlighted the strains of homophobia in the sport.

“I’m really relieved,” Richie added afterward. “I’m relieved. I’m not even sure what to say. “I expected that since they’re a wonderful group of guys.” It definitely helped that I also scored, but I’m really relieved.”
Anderson will have a same-sex partner on Strictly Come Dancing. He is another set of same-sex partners for the show’s historic 20th season.
