Born in New York City in 1956, Leo Laporte dropped out of Yale University in favor of a career in radio broadcasting. He began his work under the names Dan Hayes and Dave Allen; during the ’80s, he became involved with computers. Soon, Laporte carved out a role for himself as a well-known and well-respected technology broadcaster. He appeared on “Dvorak on Computers”, “Laporte on Computers”, “Internet!”, and “The Personal Computing Show” before winning his first Emmy for “The Site”.
