Sterban joined The Oak Ridge Boys in 1972. He is widely known for his “oom-pa-pa-oom-pa-pa-mow-mow” which was recorded in The Ridge Boys single, “Elvira”. He toured with J.D Summers and the Stamps Quartet, before joining the group.
