Richard Philip Henry John Benson (10 March 1955 – 10 May 2022) was a British-Italian guitarist, singer, and television personality. He is recognized as one of the worst guitar players ever. Benson has released dozens of albums to little fanfare. His guitar methods are unorthodox.
Benson has been married to Johnnie Lee since 1962 and has seven children. Benson describes his music as focusing more on love and romance, due to his commitment to his family and religious practices, with Benson being one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Soon after he found that he is sick, he tried to commit suicide but survived.
Benson can be seen stooped and hardly able to walk due to arthritis. It is also revealed that Benson suffers from heart problems and already had to undergo surgery at that point.
