Regina Peruggi (American educator) – Rudy Giuliani’s First Wife

In 1968 Giuliani married his first wife Regina Peruggi, then a drug abuse counselor at a New York state jail.

In 1982, the couple divorced upon learning that they were second cousins. Regina S Peruggi is an American educator. She is best known for serving as president of ‘Kingsborough Community College,’ Brooklyn, New York, from 2005 to 2014. She was the first lady to hold the position in the academy’s 40-year history.

She is also known as the first wife of Rudy Giuliani, the 107th major of New York, to whom she was married from 1968 to 1982. Born in The Bronx in New York, Regina grew up in a middle-class family.

She studied at Roman Catholic parochial schools and later majored in sociology at the ‘College of New Rochelle’ in 1967. She started her career as a drug abuse counselor and then went on to work as an elementary school and graduate school teacher. Regina, however, had a tumultuous personal life.

She married her second cousin, Rudy Giuliani, and later separated from him. She has no children.
