It continues to amaze me that the guy who played a minor, forgettable role on a dorky 90s sitcom has become this massive juggernaut of a podcaster whom everyone is either enraged or in love with. Meanwhile, Phil Hartman still tragically dead, Andy Dick still tragically alive. pic.twitter.com/rFLdmcT9KF

Reddit: What Happened Between Andy Dick and Phil Hartman?
Andy Dickman and Phil Hartman are both well-known comedians. Nothing as such happened between the two but a third factor calls for the two performers’ names to get intertwined.
Jon Lovitz and Andy Dick were cast in a show called ‘newsradio’ where both of them had to perform. Things turned ugly with Lovitz joked about how it was Andy who gave the cocaine to Phil’s wife and that’s why he was there that day.
Backstory, Phil Hartman’s wife was drugged to kill her husband Phil in the late ’90s.
Hence, it doesn’t seem anything happened between Andy and Phil but all the drama started only after Jon’s insensitive joke on Phil’s death which felt like indirect blame for the comedian’s death.
Does Andy Dick Have Murder Charges On Him?
No, Andy Dick does not have murder charges on him and he is not arrested. It was an insensitive joke that caused all this and things have remained ugly for years.
After the show, Jon sincerely apologized to Andy and thought the air was cleared but it was not all. A few days later, Andy came to Jon’s restaurant and got so drunk and started abusing him saying things like, If he got Hartman’s curse, he’d be the next one to die. This was again a bit far.
Andy was thrown out of the place and his friends were asked never to bring him there.
Again after a few days the two met. This time Lovitz expected a simple sorry from Andy but he took the things far and said that he felt he was blamed for Phil’s death. Now, Jon grabbed his t-shirt and hit him to the wall and the fight had to be stopped by the doormen.
Andy Dick got Phil Hartman’s wife back into cocaine, which was a contributing factor in the murder/suicide.
