Season 5 of the reality TV show, Big Brother Naija has started on a rather revealing note. There is the revelation of Laycon, the most trolled housemate so far and Nengi, a beautiful housemate and ex-beauty queen has joined the slow but steady growing list of housemates with one or two interesting twists to them.
Nengi’s popularity is soaring but presently not for the right reasons. First, there is the issue of age falsification and then the “Europe” issue which came up during a game with other housemates where she said Europe is not a continent. Gaffe or not, Nengi’s presence in the house has come as noticeable after becoming the first season 5 edition housemate to win the Head of House (HoH).
Rebecca Hampson “Nengi” BBN Biography
Nengi (born Rebecca Hampson, 1994), also referred to as Rebecca “Nengi” Hampson is a model, ex-Beauty Queen, and housemate in the Big Brother Naija (BBN) Season 5 (Lockdown) edition from Bayelsa State, Nembe/Brass LGA, a state in the oil-rich southern part of Nigeria. Nengi is a graduate of Linguistics and Communication studies at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).
Nengi, a former model and ex-beauty queen made the top of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) in 2017 and won two beauty pageants; Queen of Trust pageant (2013) and Miss Peace and Tourism (?). Nengi reportedly participated in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) pageant but did not win any. However, she was able to make the top 5 MBGN in 2017.
Nengi’s Real Age
Nengi is currently embroiled in an age falsification mess after it was discovered that the “22-year old” BBN housemate is 22 in 2020 while she was 23 in 2017. If the latter is anything to go by, it would mean Rebecca “Nengi” Hampson is actually 26 years old and not 22 as claimed.
BBN Lockdown Edition First HOH
Rebecca “Nengi” Hampson is the first Head of House (HOH) of the Big Brother Naija season 5 “Lockdown” edition. She won the HOH and chose Wathoni as her deputy. Nengi is also the first housemate to reach 100,000 followers on Instagram.
