Raymond Braun is a human rights activist who runs a widely popular philanthropic YouTube Channel.

Early life and education

Braun was born on 2 February 1990 in Ohio.

He attended Phillips Exeter Academy in Exeter, New Hampshire. He then attended Stanford University, California, from where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, and Society, and an M.A. degree in Communication and Media Studies — both with a G.P.A. of 4.0.

Career

After graduation, in 2012, Braun started working at YouTube/Google as Social Campaigns and Programs Lead and LGBT Marketing Lead.

While working with Google, he pitched and launched the now-famous #ProudToLove campaign – his idea for YouTube’s first LGBT-themed consumer marketing campaign.

In 2015, he left Google, and with his online social campaign and marketing experience, he created his own YouTube channel that focuses on LGTB issues and rights. It is a true non-profit YouTube channel as none of the videos is monetized, and many of them are made in collaboration with other non-profit groups such as GLAAD, Human Rights Campaign, and the Trevor Project.

His channel has over 22,000 subscribers and his videos have collected almost 2 million views (stats as of January 2017.)

In October 2015, he formed RWB Media, a company that works with major brands on social impact and diversity marketing.

In 2016, he was featured on the Forbes’ 30 under 30 stars of marketing and advertising.
