Ravi Dubey is an Indian actor. He began his acting career in 2006 with a parallel leading role in the DD Nation TV show Stree Teri Kahaani and followed it with roles in a lesser successful show like Doli Saja Ke in 2007 and Yahan Ke Hum Sikandar.

Before the star in the popular family drama show Saas Bina Sasural and Jamai Raja in 2014, which established him as one of the most popular and leading actors of Indian television Industry. He is one of The highest paid He recently was the host of Star Plus’s game show Sabse Smart Kaun. He is the recipient of several awards including Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Best Actor. EXCLUSIVE | Ravi Dubey on hosting Jammin’, ‘I never imagined I would share the stage with AR Rahman’

After hosting Rising Star last year and Sabse Smart Kaun this year, Ravi Dubey is back with another show, Jammin’. This is a unique music reality show where Bollywood maestros will have a face-off with the Digital stars. Jammin’ will also be Ravi’s second music reality show that he is hosting and the actor turned host is pretty excited about it. Speaking to us exclusively, Ravi revealed that he is pretty happy with the shows and work he is doing right now and is not considering going back to doing fiction shows any time soon. The actor also told us that it’s important for him to know when a certain project is ending, which is not the case with fiction shows on TV.

Apart from hosting Jammin’, he has also teamed up with his wife, Sargun Mehta and the two are producing films. Ravi is quite excited about hosting Jammin’ and is hoping that the audience also loves it just as much as he does. The promos look amazing. I’m sure it was overwhelming to see them perform live…

You know, all this while, obviously you have passively been in the company of a lot of these people who’ve been doing excellent work. But then, you are viewing them either at social gatherings or even, courtesy the industry, you meet them at various events and shows, for that matter. You don’t meet them when they put their A-Game forward. In this show, they are doing what they do the best and India gets to watch it. There is no such thing as competition or judges, there is a pure celebration of music and like you’ve never seen before.

In most of the episodes, just being there and seeing these guys perform, I cannot imagine being on the same stage as AR Rahman. I don’t remember the last time I shared the stage with an Oscar winner. A part of me has completely evolved because of this show. It’s amazing.

This is your second singing reality show as a host. Do you have an affinity towards music?

If you see the choices I have made in my career, you would see that I have never repeated anything. A Jamai Raja is very different from Fear Factor and a comedy show, which is Entertainment Ki Raat, which was again different from Rising Star and Sabse Smart Kaun. Jammin’ is also different from anything that I’ve done so far. It keeps you ticking as a creative individual that you are a part of a brand new space and it keeps you very excited. I do have an affinity towards music as a genre but I have the same affinity to any other space that I have done.

How much would you rate yourself as a singer?

I would rate myself 10/10. But the point is how much people who are listening to me would rate me? It would probably be in minus. (laughs)
Have you taken a break from fiction?

I have no resistance to fiction. What I do not want to now engage in is a long term commitment. I do not want to be a part of a commitment where I don’t know when it is ending. It helps to know that you are going to finish a certain project in a couple of months, so you enter into it in full power and exit the same way.

You’ve been in the industry for 12 years now, what is the best thing about it and what have you learned so far?

I think the most efficient industry in the creative space is the TV industry. You serve products on a daily basis, you’ve got to appeal to millions of people and you have a deadline to meet also. So I think what a producer/ director/ writer/ actor can deliver in a very short interval of time, their brains attune to that. There are many people who would say this is good or bad but TV content that has been churned out in India, it has a resonance globally. Our shows are dubbed in Indonesia, Canada, USA, UK, and films may not be able to have that reach. Of course, it also generates a lot of jobs.

Will you and Sargun be seen working together any time soon?

We are teaming up as producers and our first film has already gone on floors. It will be releasing in February 2019. There are several projects that we are working together on. We are spending more time with each other creatively as producers than we ever have. So a lot of things are happening in 2019.

Ravi Dubey Asks Sargun Mehta ‘Melody Itni Chocolaty Kyun Hai?’, Her Answer Is Savage

Ravi Dubey’s latest post on his Instagram handle is all about cutesy couple goals. From the caption of the post, it appears that Ravi asked Sargun, ‘Melody Itni Chocolaty Kyun Hai?, and guess what did she reply? The doting wifey replied, “Chal Naa kaam kar apna.” This so savage, isn’t it? Ravi shared the following picture along with this:
In a media interaction when Ravi was asked about the most memorable moment during his wedding with Sargun, he gave a sweet answer, “The most beautiful moment was when I was on the podium for the jai mala and I saw Sargun being carried on a doli. There were these golden lights around her and she looked beautiful. It was a very surreal moment, one that I can never forget.”
Sargun Mehta recently appeared on Famously Filmfare Punjabi. When she was asked to share her husband Ravi Dubey’s idea of romance, she had replied, “When he wanted to buy me a card for the first time, he went to an Archies Gallery. When he entered, he said, ‘Give me the best romantic card, please’. They gave him one. And he got it billed like this, ‘Hurry, bill it fast’. He kept it at the dining table at home and said, ‘I’ve brought you this, Read it’. Along similar lines, Sargun had earlier shared, “He is not a romantic guy at all. For him, to buy a card is also big deal. He once went to an Archies showroom and was irritated looking at all the cards. So, he told them to give the biggest heart card, paid for it and gave it to me without even writing anything on it. It was our first Valentine’s Day. He had tried to make it special. On the top of the tank of his building he had placed a bed sheet, candles, champagne, glasses, flowers and cake. I took the card and asked him if I could recycle it for my next boyfriend since he had not written anything in it.”
Ravi and Sargun’s social media posts are filled with reverence and love for each other. Recently, on December 23, 2018, Ravi turned a year older and Sargun took to Instagram to wish her prince charming. Sharing a cute pic with him, “Pata nahi mere kitney janmon ke karmon ka phal hai tu badi. I know i am the universe’s favourite child because you chose me to be your life partner. Meri har saans mein tere liye dua nikalti hai. Happy birthday my love, light and strength. This year is going to be your year…. Actually yeh saal , yeh century, yeh millennium, yeh aur baaki saare janam mein tu RAJA hi rahega. @ravidubey2312 HAPPY BIRTHDAY…I LOVE YOU.”
Earlier in an interview, when Ravi was asked about his lady-love, he gushed and said, “We literally fit into each other like two pieces of a puzzle.
