Ramirez played for Guadalajara from 1994 to 1998 scoring 21 goals in 151 appearances. He played for Club America in 1999 before joining UANL. From 2002 to 2004 he went back to Guadalajara where he scored 6 more goals in 82 appearances. Ramon finished his career for Chivas USA appearing in 31 games from 2005 to 2007 and scored 2 goals. He was also the captain of Chivas. Ramirez also represented Mexico in international competition from 1991 to 2000. He had 121 caps and scored 15 goals.
