Rakesh experienced some health concerns on August 14, 2022, and was rushed to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. He died later that morning, around 6:30 a.m. Per the tests carried out, Doctors reported that he also had kidney problems and acute multiple organ failure.
Since his death, top personalities in India and abroad have paid their tribute to him. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences in a statement.
