Radha Mitchell: early life, family and education

Radha Rani Amber Indigo Ananda Mitchell (Yes, in fact, that’s her full name) was born on November 12, 1973. The Melbourne-born talent was born to parents Adriana Mitchell, who was a model and later a designer, and filmmaker Norman Mitchell. However, her parents separated when she was only 6 years old.

Mitchell has a very unique name and has an interesting story behind it. In the 1970s, Radha’s mother, Adriana, was on one of her cloth-buying trips to India and had a different admiration for the country. Then Adriana gave her the name Radha: Prosperity, Rani: Queen and Ananda: Joy. Due to the first experience of her and her name, Mitchell has a soft spot for the country and returns there quite often.

For her education, Radha attended St. Michael’s Grammar School in Victoria, Melbourne. During her time at school, she learned the basics of acting and acting. Her father was a filmmaker and she visited her studio quite often and learned more about the industry. After graduating, Radha went to the United States to study fine arts at the University of California .

More recently, she was cast in ‘Olympus Has Fallen’ and ‘London Has Fallen’, both opposite Gerard Butler. She also appeared in movies like Looking for Grace and The Shack.
