The Holby City star has been with her former husband for over two decades. The pair first met at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts in their early 20s. At the time, they were studying and eventually felt this fantastic chemistry.

David is a well-known musician who has been playing keys and serving as a musical director since 1998, soon after graduating from Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. He is also notable as the MD for The Voice in the United Kingdom.
The musician has toured as MD and keyboard player for many bands and shows. Having started his journey in musical theatres, David ended up being in a live band for a popular Sunday morning children’s show for the BBC.
For the last decade, Tench has moved around working as either a synth player, MD, or programmer for Will Young, Kylie, Take that, Spandau Ballet, Leona Lewis, XFactor UK and USA, Lady gaga, Lucie Silvas, Craig David, Lee Ryan, David Jordan, and Kid Creole among others.

While filming the 2006 British television thriller Losing Gemma, Rachel and the other film cast spent two months without a break in India. And while the actress insisted she enjoyed every minute, she also missed her husband, David.
Her concern grew when she let one Indian film crew read her palm. She was told that she would be getting a divorce shortly. After hearing that, she was straight on the phone with her husband, sobbing her heart out.
She blurted out: “We’re going to get divorced.” The prediction came true, and the pair separated after many years of marriage.

The professional boxer also served as the captain of the England Boxing Team between 1998 and 2003. Additionally, he was the Commonwealth Games England Team Captain in 2002 and British Amateur Featherweight Champion (January 2001).
