Rachel Ames (born November 2, 1929 in Portland, Oregon) is an American actress who has appeared in a number of films. In the role of Audrey Hardy, R.N., she was the longest-running actress on ABC’s daytime series General Hospital, which she played from 1964 until 2007. On the General Hospital spin-off series Port Charles, she portrayed Audrey Hardy, a character she had previously played. Although her contract with General Hospital was not extended in 2003, she continued to appear on the show as a recurrent character from 2003 to 2007, and she also made a short cameo in 2009. It was revealed on Katie on February 13, 2013, by Genie Francis (Laura Spencer), that Ames will be returning to the programme on March 29, 2013.
