However, Rachael was found dead at the foot of her driveway. She was shot and died less than four minutes later. Her parents quickly blamed Sheldon Jeter Jr., a 20-year-old former high school football star, for her death.
Sheldon’s attorney claimed that the two of them had a relationship more than a friendship. He claimed that they were romantically involved. In contrast, her mother denies the claims.
She said that her daughter was attempting to assist Jeter since she was a teacher, and he misinterpreted her benevolence for romantic love.
Did Sheldon Jeter Kill Rachael DelTondo?
There is no evidence to prove that Jeter killed Rachael DelTondo. On the day of her death, the suspect’s uncle provided an alibi that his nephew was at his home on the day when Rachael was shot.
He claimed that Sheldon was taking care of his father that night. In addition, there are no other suspects to carry on the investigation. However, Jeter is still serving a prison sentence.
In 2020, someone related to Jeter was killed in a similar scenario. However, this time, police found evidence that Jeter was the one who committed the crime.
Nevertheless, in the Rachael DelTondo case, it was stated that Sheldon Jeter’s testimony was heard by a Pennsylvania statewide grand jury. Beaver County District Attorney David Lozier said nothing when asked about a probable suspect or charge in the case. He just said that they would soon make a statement.
