Meet Garrett Gilbert Parents
Garrett Gilbert is the son of Gale Gilbert, a former NFL quarterback. There is no information about the player’s mother.
He was born in Buffalo, New York, where his father was a member of the famed Bills team that lost four back-to-back Super Bowls in the early 1990s.
When Gale signed with the Chargers at the age of three, he moved to San Diego, California (who coincidentally played in the Super Bowl that same year, resulting in a record fifth consecutive championship loss for a player).
In 1996, the family relocated to Austin, Texas. Garrett has one brother, Griffin, who attended Texas Christian University and played football.
During his first five seasons in the NFL, Garrett saw very little playing action and was mostly sent to the offseason and practice squads of his teams.
He rose to popularity in 2019 as the starting quarterback of the Alliance of American Football’s (AAF) Orlando Apollos when he topped the league in passing yards and passer rating while leading his team to a 7–1 record and a playoff berth.
