Public rage has escalated over off-duty Kenosha cop Shawn Guetschow who was caught kneeling on a 12-year-old girl’s neck in video footage.
The incident happened while the girl was involved in a scuffle during her lunchtime. Shawn Guetschow intervened during the fight – and what he did was not acceptable.
Locals have heavily criticized and opposed the pinning that occurred to a minor girl. Activists also raised a series of questions on the off-duty officer’s reaction.
Who Is Kenosha Cop Shawn Guetschow?
Kenosha cop Shawn Guetschow worked as a security guard in Kenosha Unified School District before he was directed to stay on paid leave by the department.
Shawn was initially on paid leave until his action went viral on the internet. He has now resigned from the job and is currently being investigated over the issue.
Also, the parents of the 12-year-old girl are not satisfied with how Kenosha police reacted at first. The victim’s father has called for criminal charges against Guetschow for using a type of restraint that is banned by law.

Due to legal issues, the identity of 12-year-old girl is not released by the police. However, her father, Jerrel Perez, has compared Shawn Guetschow with Derek Chauvin.
The convict Chauvin, who was caught Kneeling George Floyd, an African-American man. Floyd died because the officer neglected to take off his knee from his neck.

Users on different social media are angry over Shawn Guetschow’s kneeling reactions. Apparently, everybody is talking about the George Floyd incident.
Although officers aren’t allowed to practice kneeling, Shawn didn’t hesitate much to do so. By the way, he pinned down a minor girl – which wasn’t his duty.
“Being a male, it isn’t allowed to do; what did he think at that time, did he imitate Derek Chauvin?” A Twitter user tweets angrily.
Activists from Kenosha, Milwaukee, and Chicago stood outside the school district on Wednesday, disavowing the police officer and his behavior.
What Happened To The Girl?
There is no news regarding the girl and what has happened to her after the event. But, his father said to a journal that she is seeking therapy and visiting a neurologist for the injuries.
Perez’s daughter is severely depressed, and she has to do different therapies.
Being a minor, she isn’t able to cope with the trauma quickly, so demonstrators are demanding Shawn should be charged with a criminal offense.
