Pooja Hegde was born on October 13, 1990 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India to parents Manjunath Hegde and Latha Hegde. She was born and raised in Mumbai, Maharashtra ut originally from Udupi, Karnataka. She grew up in a Tulu-speaking family and she is also fluent in English, Kannada, Marathi and Hindi. She also learned Telegu following her career in Telegu cinema. She has an elder brother named Rishabh Hegde, who is an Orthopaedic surgeon.
For her education, she attended M.M.K College where she participated in dance and fashion shows.
Career
Pooja became known after emerging runner-up at the 2010 “I Am She- Miss Universe India pageant”
She began acting with a role in the Tamil film Mugamoodi. She followed up with a role in the Telegu film Oka Laila Kosam, starring alongside Naga Chaitanya.
She has starred in other films such as Mukunda, Mohenjo Daro, Duvvada Jagannadham, Rangasthalam, Maharshi, Most Eligible Bachelor, Housefull 4, and many others.
