Who Was Katie Allan?

After hitting a 15-year-old kid and knocking him unconscious, Katie, a geography student at Glasgow University, was sentenced to 16 months for driving while intoxicated.

In August 2017, the event took place in Giffnock, East Renfrewshire. Katie had drunk four pints of beer before attempting to drive home from a bar.

At Paisley Sheriff’s Court, she pleaded guilty to driving dangerously and exceeding the legal blood alcohol limit by more than four times.

They claimed that despite warnings that Katie was “vulnerable” and had a history of self-harm, prison staff disregarded them.
