Omaha: Brad Ashford Obituary & Death Cause Revealed

Brad Ashford, a Nebraska attorney, state senator, and member of the United States Congress, died on Tuesday, just two months after reporting his brain cancer treatment. His family, including his wife, Ann Ferlic Ashford, took to social media to share the news.

In February, Ashford revealed to 6 News that he had been diagnosed with brain cancer and was losing control of his left side, and couldn’t walk effectively.

His family said he was “positive till the end” and called his death “peaceful albeit far too premature” in a message on Ashford’s Facebook page, advising Nebraskans to “tell your loved ones you love them, study some history to learn something, and reach out to lift your fellow human.”

Details about memorial services will be released soon, according to the family.

Brad Ashford Wife Ann Ferlic Is Planning To Run For Congress

Brad Ashford and his wife Ann Ferlic were married on August 27, 1993. They have three children together; John Ashford, Ellie Ashford, and Tom Ashford.

She has lived in Omaha his entire life and was a loyal Republican until lately. Randy Ferlic, her father, is a Republican who served on the University of Nebraska Board of Regents and is a retired physician.

After graduating from Westside High School in 1978, Ashford went to Notre Dame University and Creighton University School of Law.

She stated that politics has always piqued her interest and that this is not her first step into the arena. In 2011, Ashford sought her father’s Board of Regents seat but was defeated by former Omaha Mayor Hal Daub.

She previously stated that she had wanted to run for Congress for a long time but would never have taken on her husband. However, she claimed that the door to her congressional campaign opened unexpectedly earlier this year when Brad Ashford decided not to run against Bacon again.

Although Ashford recognizes that her potential political run may appear unconventional to some, the Omaha attorney believes she can convince voters that it will be a genuine candidacy by an “independent” woman.
