Nooryana has denied the claims of her interning in Goldman Sachs; however, she has accepted that she wanted to do a job in the bank. She said that she tried to get the job, but the bank denied her because of a conflict of interest.
The conflict of interest was raised because of Goldman Sachs’s work with the Malaysian government. She agreed about meeting Tim and Ng from Goldman Sachs, but she never interned over there.
She also said that she did intern at TPG, which was suggested by Tim to her. After doing intern there, she later got a full-time position at TPG Hongkong, but after about two years, she left that job to pursue her own business.
This clarification came as a result of the recent testimony of Tim, where he claimed that the former primeminister, Nooryana’s father, met with former Goldman Sachs chief Lloyd Blankfein for his kids’ job.
