Merrill Kelly married wife Bre Kelly on December 1, 2018. Merrill welcomed a beautiful daughter named Hadley in February 2022.
The baseball pitcher plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks alongside teammate Alek Thomas.
Four years after making his debut in the MLB, Merrill will likely play one of his career’s most significant games. He is set to appear in the championship game of the 2023 World Baseball Classic against Japan and Shohei Ohtani at LoanDepot Park in Miami, Florida.
Merill was once away from American professional baseball during his career in South Korea. After playing three seasons for the SK Wyverns in the KBO league, the pitcher returned to the world’s best baseball league.
He started his first game for the Arizona Diamondbacks in the victory against the San Diego Padres with a quality start. Four seasons later, the pitcher is enjoying a successful MLB stint with 3.96 ERA and 494 strikeouts.
Merrill Kelly Had A Wedding In Phoenix
Merrill walked down the aisle in Phoenix, Arizona. He married his long time girlfriend Bre Kelly in 2018.
The D-Back pitcher has known Bre for more than a decade now after first meeting with her in the early 2010s. They dated for over five years before finally tying the knot and binding their relationship into marriage.
Bre is sometimes seen in the stands supporting her husband during the game days. She was interviewed from the stands in Mert’s debut game by Fox Sports, expressing her delight at seeing Merrill playing on such a big stage.
The US-born lady also shared how Merrill informed her about the offer from Arizona Diamondbacks back in 2018. As she was preparing for the wedding day, Mert called her in the morning and told her the delightful news.
They both went crazy and couldn’t believe the hard work and dedication over the years had finally paid off. Their special day of nuptials became even more remarkable as they exchanged vows and promised to remain together forever.
After signing the final contract 3-4 days later, the newly-wed couple departed for their honeymoon on Thursday, 6th December 2018.
Bre Kelly likes to spend time with her hubby on the beach, as seen from the social media photos on Twitter. Although Mrs. Kelly has an Instagram account, she has kept it private.
Merrill Kelly Children
The veteran baseball pitcher became a father for the first time in February 2022 after his spouse Bre gave birth to a daughter. The Kelly couple later named her Hadley.
After more than three years of marriage, the arrival of Hadley has given a new purpose to Mert’s life. In an interview with club reporter Steve Gilbert, he explained how fatherhood had changed him.
The Arizona player was initially unsure whether he could carry out the huge responsibility of being a dad. And now, a year later, he relishes the joy of parentage.

Unlike many other players and celebrities, Kelly prefers to keep his personal life private. As such, he hasn’t shared any photos of his child on any social media sites.
One of the major reasons for him committing his future to the Diamondbacks was Hadley since he didn’t want to move again as a free agent with a little daughter in the house.
Merrill further expressed how all the stress and tiredness from the game faded away after going back home and seeing his cute baby girl.
Merrill Kelly Family Life
Merrill Kelly was born to parents Cheryl and TomKelly on October 14, 1988. He grew up with his brother Reid Kelly in Houston, Texas.
His mother Cheryl shifted to live in Seattle a few years ago. However, his father Tom is still residing in Scottsdale, Arizona. Similarly, his older brother currently lives in Chandler.
One thing is for sure, his move from Korea to the USA has made it a lot easier for his family members to attend his games from the stadium. Now, they can drive to the park rather than take a long international flight.
Kelly credits the upbringing and influence of his mom and dad for where he is now and hopes they are proud of his achievements.
The D-backs pitcher graduated in 2007 from Desert Mountain High School, Scottsdale. Baltimore Orioles selected him in the 37th round of the 2007 MLB draft, but he did not sign the contract.
He instead went to Yavapai College in Prescott to play college basketball for two seasons. Despite being picked again in the 2009 MLB Draft, he did not sign and instead transferred to Arizona State University.
Sixteen years down the lane, Merril is enjoying his season with the Diamondbacks. After signing a two-year contract extension in 2022, the 34-year-old Kelly earns USD 8,500,000 per season and other incentive bonuses.
