In his senior year, he recorded 48 tackles and 3 interceptions and was included in a First Team All-Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference selection.

Adams was selected in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. In the 16th week of his debut season, he broke his left ankle while blocking on the opening kickoff. After a year, he was released by the 49ers.

He was then signed by the New England Patriots but was released by the Patriots on October 14 to make room for Marcus Harrison.

Adams also played a short period for NFL teams like Seattle Seahawks, Oakland Raiders, New York Jets, and Atlanta Falcons.
