If there’s anyone who can go missing on the football pitch, it can never be Peter Crouch. This is thanks to the fact that he is an excellent player and has it when it comes to height. Crouch played in English Premier League side Stoke City until the end of the 2017/2018 season when the club were relegated to the Championship. He also played for the England national team.
Peter Crouch Biography
It was on January 30, 1981 that the footballer was born as Peter James Crouch in Macclesfield, Cheshire. Shortly after he was born, his family moved to Singapore where they stayed for three years before returning home.
Like many football players you know, Crouch grew up loving football and he followed his father to watch Chelsea FC games as his father was a Chelsea supporter.
For his education, he first went to Roxeth Primary and later he went to North Ealing Primary. He then attended high school at Drayton Manor High School. But then it was his football career that made him famous.
Soccer career
1991 saw the scrawny footballer begin his youthful career at Brentford until the end of 1993 after which he moved to Queens Park Rangers where he remained for a year. His youth career would continue at Tottenham Hotspur until 1998.
Peter Crouch was promoted in 1998 to play for Tottenham, launching his senior team career. Unfortunately, he didn’t get much playing time but was only loaned out to a few clubs. Queens Park Rangers signed him in 2001, only to release him to Portsmouth a year later. From there he moved to Aston Villa in 2002, where he remained until 2004 when he moved to Southampton.
A season later, Crouch made a move that would have a huge impact on his career when he signed for Liverpool. 85 matches and 22 goals later, he returned to Portsmouth in 2008 to start again, after one season, at Tottenham Hotspur, where it all started for him. Two seasons later they had played 73 games and 12 goals before moving to Stoke City, where he remained until the end of the 2017/2018 season when the team were relegated. A season before, he was linked with Chelsea FC, but he decided against it.
Looking back at his club football career, Peter Crouch won the FA Cup in 2006, as well as the Community Shield with Liverpool. He emerged as a UEFA Champions League runner-up in 2007.
He first appeared in England at Under-21 level in 2002, before playing for the England B team in 2006. The 6-by-7-inch American football player started playing for the Three Lions in 2005. Five years later, he had appeared in 42 matches, scoring 22 goals in the process before retiring.
wife and family
Peter Crouch was not known throughout his life to have dated a woman until 2006 when he met and started dating English model Abbey Clancy, who came out on top as a British finalist by the same year.
After three years, Abbey Clancy and Crouch decided to take it a step further by getting engaged in 2009, and then in 2011 they tied the knot and started a family. Sophia Ruby was born on March 14, 2011. Before getting married in June, the couple’s first child, Sophia Ruby, saw the birth of their second child, Liberty Rose. In January 2018, Johnny is their third child.
Although on the surface everything seems smooth for both of them, there were ups and downs. The most popular of these events took place in 2010, after Abbey Clancy abandoned their first child. At the time, the football player was accused of having an affair with a sex worker named Monica. Good enough, Peter and Abby were able to sort things out.
Height, weight and body measurements
As noted, Crouch could become the most visible striker you’ll find on many football pitches thanks to his impressive height. It is indeed, thanks to this, that he is prolific with his head.
He has a massive height of 6 feet 7 inches and a weight of 75 kg. Although his overall measurements are not known, he is noticeably thin.
