Charges – Arrested

A Pennsylvania woman, who had allegedly forced her way into the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, demanded that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other lawmakers be handed over to insurrectionists, shouting: “Bring them out now. They’re criminals. They need to hang.”

According to the FBI, Pauline Bauer, of Kane, went on to tell Metropolitan police officers barring her entrance to a hallway: “Bring Nancy Pelosi out here now. We want to hang that f—ing bitch. Bring her out. We’re coming if if you don’t bring her out. What are you trying to do, protect a f—ing Nazi?”

She was arrested today along with another McKean County man, William Blauser, on several charges related to the riot. They are among the 42 people in Pennsylvania who have been arrested in connection with the insurrection.

Before arresting her, the FBI found comments on Facebook from Bauer’s profile.

In one, according to the FBI, she writes: “I am at the capital and was inside. No of us are armed just pissed that this is what we have to do to take back our country from communism.” And this common refrain from insurrectionists, blaming the riot on other groups: “Do you really think anyone could break into the capital. The antagonists were let in. We all got maced trying to stop what was happening. They used us for a movie so you could watch it on the news.”

In another post, she propagated a Q’Anon lie. When asked if she was inside the Capitol legally, she allegedly answered: “You can thank me after you start researching that these Democrats not only cheated and stole this election from the people but they have been trafficking children for years.”

Tips to the FBI came from five people about Bauer’s and Blauser’s alleged involvement on Jan. 6. One of the witnesses frequents a restaurant owned by Bauer and her husband in the Kane area, saying Bauer “became more political over the past year, and began losing business because people were uncomfortable about her constant political rhetoric,” according to the FBI’s arresting document.

A sixth witness told the FBI that Bauer had arranged for buses to travel from the Kane area to Washington, D.C., for then-President Donald Trump’s “Stop the Steal” rally, which preceded the insurrection. The riot claimed five lives and cost millions in damage and cleanup in the historic Capitol building.

At least three police officers attempted to stop crowds from entering the Capitol door that Blauser and Bauer entered. Blauser walked backward to push his way through the door, according to the FBI.

Bauer was arrested on charges of obstruction of justice; entering a restricted building; disorderly conduct in a restricted building; and violent entry of a restricted building. Blauser was charged with entering a restricted building; disorderly conduct in a restricted building; and violent entry.
