Paris Hilton: the infamous “stop being poor” t-shirt is fake

Paris Hilton is so misunderstood.

The hotel heiress – and outspoken youth detention center activist – made a shocking revelation to fans on social media: Her infamous “STOP BEING POOR” tank top is a fake.

“So there’s this picture of me online – I’m sure you’ve seen it,” the It girl begins once and forever in a video posted to TikTok, now viewed over 4.5 million times.

“I’ve never worn this shirt,” she says to set the record straight, pointing to the background which features the famous image of Paris with the message “STOP BEING POOR” on her chest. . “This was completely photoshopped. Everyone thinks it’s real, but it’s not the truth.

Then the real message flashes on the screen. “Stop being desperate,” she said with a sneer, reading the shirt she wore that night 16 years ago.

“Don’t believe everything you read,” she cautions at the end.

The notorious peak has been linked with the 40-year-old party girl since 2013, according to the KnowYourMeme viral archive. Images of Paris with her sister Nicky, 37, at a fashion show in 2005 – for the now defunct fashion label Chick by Nicky Hilton – were altered to denounce the siblings as spoiled and then went on to been widely shared on Tumblr.

Although the images were debunked a few months later, the fakes remain closely associated with Paris, which is estimated to be worth $ 300 million.

Meanwhile, the blushing bride-to-be is probably busy planning her nuptials with Carter Reum, a 40-year-old venture capital firm, who offered the “Stars Are Blind” singer a massive diamond and sapphire engagement ring that could be worth more than $ 2. million, according to jewelry experts.
