Pac 12 Preseason Football Rankings 2023

Pac 12 preseason football rankings 2023 are 1. USC Trojans, 2. Oregon Ducks, 3. Colorado Buffaloes, 4. Utah Utes, and 5. UCLA Bruins.

The Trojans only managed three conference wins in 2021. They were 4-8 in overall record. The last time they had such a horrific record was in 1991 when they finished 3-8.

The 2022 campaign was a remarkable turn of events for one of the powerhouses of college football when Lincoln Riley took the head coach role. They ranked No. 12 in AP Poll and managed to play the championship match.

The odds of lifting this year’s Pac-12 championship favor the Trojans.

On the other hand, Oregon Ducks, Washington Huskies, and Utah Utes will be their closest competitors heading into the 2023 season.

Likewise, the preseason rankings situate Alabama Crimson Tide and Georgia Bulldogs as the top two teams. Texas Longhorns, Ohio State Buckeyes, and LSU Tigers are among the best five teams.

College Football Rankings Pac 12

Pac 12 preseason rankings see the 2022 Pac-12 Championship runner-up USC Trojans at the top, while the defending champions Utah Utes sit on the 4th spot.

Trojans were a formidable team in the 2022 campaign, registering eight wins in the regular season and claiming the season championship. Quarterback Caleb Williams has a brilliant run earning him the 2022 Heisman Trophy.

Likewise, they made brilliant moves recruiting three five-star and 19 four-star prospects. WR Zachariah Branch, TE Duce Robinson, and QB Malachi Nelson will be seen sporting the cardinal and gold attire.

They are placed at the 7th in the national rankings, while Oregon Ducks find themselves at the 9th spot. Colorado (21), Utah (23), and UCLA (25) also make it into the top 25.

Pac 12 football rankings for all the teams ahead of the 2023 season are as follows:

Odds To Win Pac-12 Football 2023

Pac 12 football predictions 2023 incline towards USC Trojans with +210 odds by DraftKings. They were booked at +200 to win the championship in 2022.

FanDuel and Ceasars favor them with +200. BetMGM also acknowledges them as the best team to win the title in 2023 and provides a +160 odds.

For your information, Kansas City Chiefs have the best odds of +600, marking them as the favorites to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy two years in a row.

The presence of Quarterback Caleb Williams, who is predicted to go big in the 2024 NFL Draft, and the addition of capable five-star and four-star athletes make their case stronger.

Last year, Utah Utes had a +280 odds to win the title. They were the only team from the Pac-12 conference to defeat the Trojans, and they did it twice.

This year, they are not heavily favored as they secure the 4th position in the table with +500. It seems the lackluster recruiting phase with no five-star talent has provided a massive blow at their chance of making it two years in a row.

Anyhow, here is the complete list of teams and their probability of making it to the end and claiming the Pac-12 Championship:

  • USC Trojans +210
  • Oregon Ducks +290
  • Washington Huskies +400
  • Utah Utes +500
  • Oregon State Beavers +1200
  • UCLA Bruins +1600
  • Washington State Cougars +3000
  • California Golden Bears +6000
  • Arizona Wildcats +8000
  • Arizona State Sun Devils +9000
  • Colorado Buffaloes +10000
  • Stanford Cardinal +15000

New Pac 12 Teams

Pac 12 football teams 2024 will be reduced to ten if they fail to lure San Diego State University and Southern Methodist University.

Pac 12 2024 teams are University of Arizona, Arizona State University, University of California, Berkeley, University of Colorado, Boulder, University of Oregon, Oregon State University, Stanford University, University of Utah, University of Washington, and Washington State University.

The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and the University of Southern California (USC) will play their final season in 2023 as Pac-12 conference teams. These two schools from California publicized their decision to leave Pac 12 in the summer of 2022 and will be included in the Big Ten on 2nd August 2024.

It has shaken the core of the Pac-12 conference and has brought teams like the Colorado Buffaloes and Oregon Ducks to the edge of their seat. The struggle to land a media deal has raised further speculations.

While Big 12 and other conferences look to expand their domain, Pac-12 seems to be in shallow waters as Big 12 eyes Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, and Utah in their expansion scheme.

Amid all this chaos, the executives stated that the Pac-12 expansion procedure would begin shortly after a new media deal is agreed upon. They may partner with CW, Apple, or Amazon as Fox Sports and ESPN have exited the deal.

San Diego State Pac 12 Expansion

San Diego State Aztecs have been seen as the new contender when the Pac-12 expansion scheme sets in motion.

If the Aztecs decide to leave the Mountain West Conference, they must pay a $6.5 million exit fee. This amount will reach $34 million if they fail to hand in an official notice before July 1.

As per the recent developments, the Aztecs handed a letter of intent to their current league. CBS Sports states that the letter detailed the formal notice that “San Diego intends to resign.”

Like other Pac-12 schools, San Diego has been halted due to the inability of the conference to land a media agreement.

SMU Mustangs are seen as another probable team to enter the Pacific Conference. Likewise, Boise State’s name has also surfaced in recent times.
