Ozark synopsis, TV summary and spoiler

‘Ozark’ is set in the world of opioid money trafficking and takes its name from Missouri’s Lake of the Ozarks. The money-centered present-day plot, based in dark truth, revolves around financial planners Marty (Bateman) and Wendy Bird (Linney) and the abrupt relocation of their family from the Chicago suburbs to the Missouri Ozarks summer resort community. Ozark examines capitalism, family relations, and survival through the lens of (anything but) average Americans, instead of the familiar skyscrapers and trading floors.

Ozark proceeds to track Marty Bryde and his family in its much-anticipated second season as they explore the murky waters of living inside a deadly cartel of narcotics. With Del out, their ambitious prosecutor Helen Pierce is sent to the city by the crime syndicate to spice it up just as The Byrdes are slowly fitting down. In the middle of the increasing dangers posed by their relationships with the power-hungry Snells, the cartel and their current deputy, Ruth Langmore, whose father Cade has been released from jail, Marty and Wendy are trying to manage their family needs. The STAKES are much bigger than ever, and soon the Byrdes know that before they can get out, they have to go all in.
