Oscar 2017 delivered a couple of firsts around the world and one particularly memorable moment when actress Emma Stone was questioned. “Is this the craziest Oscar moment ever?”
Among the first at the 2017 Oscars was MahershalaAli’s Best Supporting Actor win, making him the first Muslim actor to ever win an Oscar. Viola Davis also won in her Best Supporting Actress category, becoming the first black actress to win an Emmy, a Tony, and an Oscar. La La Land director Damien Chazelle, 32, made history as the youngest director on Sunday night.
All of these commendable records made way for The 2017 Oscar Big Win, which saw Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty present “La La Land” as the winners of Best Picture and held a celebration that was soon cut short as one of the winners of “La La Land” pointed out to “Moonlight” “Indeed had won the award.
Moonlight, a coming-of-age drama about a boy, gay black man in a rough Miami neighborhood, was the best picture for the 2017 Oscar, and despite the mix-up that leaves many people still waiting for an explanation, it was classified as worthy of an award.
