Olivia O’Brien Career

Olivia began her career by creating an account on SoundCloud and began posting her covers. She later caught the attention of Los Angeles-based singer/producer Gnash after posting the cover of his song ‘Disposable’. She was reached out to her expressing interest in hearing her original musical compositions. She then sent him her original song titled “I hate u, I love u.”After listening to the song, Gnash invited her to record the song with him.
In 2015, the song appeared online, and the year after, it was released commercially as a single in Gnash’s album ‘us’. She  had  her debut solo track “Trust Issues.” A month later, she then released her second single titled “Root Beer Float” featuring blackbear. She released her third song titled “Find What You’re Looking For” was released Then on October 21, 2016. She later released a new single titled “Empty” in February 2017. The same year, she released the single “RIP” as well as its accompanying music video.
On November 3rd,  same year,  she released a song titled “No Love”. Later that month, her debut EP titled ‘It’s Not That Deep’ was also released. Then in January 2018, the singer was featured in Jack & Jack’s single “Beg”. On November 15, 2019, she released her second EP, It Was a Sad Fucking Summer. The EP forms part of a project she describes as “micromixtapes”. With this, she also announced a tour, It Was a Sad F**cking Tour.
On the tour, that took place from February 2020 to March 2020. On February 6th, 2020, she released her second micromixtape, The Results Of My Poor Judgement. She was set to perform at Coachella Festival, which was later canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  A “quarantine” music video shot at her house in isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic that was released on May 8. The single was then released on the Josslyn EP which included the original version of the song, a remix, a demo of the song, and a radio edit on May 15. A remix with rapper 24kGoldn was released on May 22 whilst the original song was serviced to top 40 radio formats on June 2.
