Olivia Nicholls has progressed to the second round after winning the debut match of the Wimbledon 2022 Ladies Double.
Nicholls and her partner Alicia Barnett finished off in style with 6-4-6 during the Wimbledon first match against the pair Kaia Kanepi and Renata Voracova.
Although rain delayed the match by two hours, the British players were in no mood to give up on the game easily. The first round went off pretty well for Olivia and her partner and took the set 6-1.
However, the second games were quite competitive and Kaia and Renata secured a 6-4 win. The momentum shifted during the third set and Olivia was able to win the match by securing a 6-2 win against the opponents on June 29’s match.
The second round is due for Olivia and Barnett on July 1 where they will be seen against Nadiia Kichenok and Ioana Raluca Olaru.
