The CCTV video shows a man driving a black car hit into the crowd enjoying their meals on the pavement, making it a battlefield with bloodshed everywhere.
The driver of a car that smashed into an outdoor eating area of a restaurant on Jalan Klang Lama here late yesterday has been arrested.
The 57-year-old male was arrested at the scene this morning, according to ACP Sarifudin Mohd Salleh of the Kuala Lumpur Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department.
The man was driving a Honda HRV car towards the city center from Petaling Jaya.
The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into a Lexus parked on the wayside.
As per the sources, a car crashed into an outdoor eating area of a restaurant in Jalang Klang Lama late yesterday.
What Happened In Old Klang Road?
Thankfully, a tragic incident has been reported in Old Klang Road, not killing anyone at the scene.
However, according to local reports, at least ten people have been injured, of which some are in serious condition.
A 57-year-old driver was shortly arrested after the accident and is believed to be driving under the influence.
Meanwhile, the officials believe the driver had consumed alcohol beyond the limit; however, further investigation will reveal the complete truth.
The Lexus vehicle moved ahead and collided with a Perodua Axia automobile parked in front of the restaurant.
Subsequently, the car collided with two pedestrians nearby and patrons at the restaurant’s outdoor dining area.
The incident resulted in the injuries of eight persons initially.
An early test of the driver revealed that his blood alcohol concentration was above the legal limit.
According to Saifuddin Bernama, he has been booked under Section 44(1A) of the Road Transport Act.
