Obituary: Who Was Edward White? Nike Larry Miller Murder Victim – Age At Death

Edward White died at the hands of Nike’s executive Larry Miller, founder of the Michael Jordan brand.

Larry fatally shot Edward, a member of Philadelphia’s Cedar Avenue gang, for which he served time in prison. At the time of his death, his age was 16 years. The drunk shooter, revenge on his mind, took to the streets. A rival gang member had stabbed one of his friends and a fellow gang mate to death.

However, he ended up killing the first person he saw with a .38 weapon, which he obtained from his girlfriend. Although the victim didn’t provoke and there wasn’t any evidence of his involvement with a gang, he met the unfortunate event.

The murderer disclosed the details of the incident mentioned in his book, Jump: My Secret Journey from the Streets to the Boardroom. However, the relatives of the deceased were upset about the killer not mentioning the actual name.

Reportedly, the book describes Edward as another black boy and former Cub Scout who wanted to become a chef. Six months before his death, a diner hired him. Due to it, his family wanted the real name and story to be part of Miller’s new book that William Morrow, an imprint of HarperCollins, published on 18 January 2022.

The deceased’s great-niece and an elementary school teacher in Philadelphia, Mariah Green, asked the killer to give some respect to him by putting his name on the book.

Besides these details, there isn’t much online about Edward.

Edward White Family

Edward White’s family wanted Larry Miller to put the real name and story of the dead in his latest book.

Edward’s family includes his baby mama, 75-year old Josaphine Hobbs, daughter, 55-year-old Azizah Arline, sister, 84-year-old Barbara Mack, son, 56-year-old Hasan Adams.

Larry, in an interview, revealed his plans to reach out to the family. Further, White’s family also wanted to meet him and discuss launching a scholarship in the victim’s name or some financial compensation for the family with the profits earned from his book.

Edward’s daughter, living in Pennsauken, New Jersey, owns a day-care center. As for his sister, there isn’t much about her online. She did express her dissatisfaction with Larry’s prison sentence, which was just four and a half years. His son is a Philadelphia postal worker.
