While police at first described the death as a fall, it was later indicated that it appears as that Prosser must have jumped from the ledge.

He is a railroad engineer. According to Frank Bauer who claimed to be Prosser’s longtime friend, they worked in a Pizza shop when they were young. He added they also co-managed a team in a Red Hood Men’s Softball Over 40 League together.
He was found by the police after the Phish fans reported that a man was suffering from the injury. One of the witnesses mentioned that he intentionally jumped as he saw him put his feet on the barrier, stand up and just leap which he thought was too dangerous. On the contrary, his longtime friend mentions that he wouldn’t jump off the ledge as he has known him for years. However, the proofs are to be gathered to justify the witness testament.
Later after an hour of Ryan’s death, another Phish fan also fell into SanFranciso Hall. He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
