Who Is Andrew Peery From Colorado?

Since 2016, Andrew Peery, a native of Colorado, has served as a highly regarded and decorated SWAT operator for the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

However, after being shot while on duty at a residence in the Widefield-Security neighborhood on Sunday, the highly decorated deputy sheriff of El Paso County passed away.

Adrian Vasquez, the director of the division, stated in a news release on Monday: “It is impossible to put into words the horror that occurred yesterday. My heart hurts for the two families who have lost loved ones and the kids who have lost a parent as the chief of police and a member of this community.”

“When these kinds of heinous crimes are committed, there is nothing we can do to completely restore what was lost or to replace those who have passed away.”

He added: “Please accept my sincere condolences on behalf of the Colorado Springs Police Department to the family mourning the loss of a loved one this morning.”

Obituary: The County Deputy Was Shot And Killed In Line Of Duty

Deputy Andrew Peery was a responding deputy who, according to police, was “gravely injured” after being hit by a bullet.

At the site, a woman was also found dead, and when police entered the home, they discovered the alleged shooter deceased from what appeared to be a self-inflicted wound.

A call reporting a shooting in Security-500 Widefield’s block of Ponderosa Drive catalyzed this incident.

Similarly, a Fountain police officer and two patrol deputies from the El Paso sheriff’s office responded. They claim that is when John Paz, 33, opened fire on them. At that point, Peery was struck.

Besides, the officer also returned fire, and Peery was given life-saving assistance when more assistance came on the scene, and he was transferred to the hospital, where he passed away.

The deceased woman was later discovered in the yard by the responding police officers. She hasn’t been given a name as of this writing. Paz was involved in divorce proceedings, per a review of court documents.

In addition, social media users have shared Perry’s obituaries, and many have prayed for his family. “A memorial is out for Deputy Andrew Peery, who was killed in the line of duty last night,” one user stated.

Peery Was Survived By His Wife Meghan And Two Children

Andrew’s family and his wife, Meghan, must be devastated following his tragic death. The young soul left behind his family and two kids, which he shares with his wife.

His family hasn’t released a comment at the time of this writing, but given that they are going through a trying time, it makes sense to provide them the privacy they require.

Additionally, donations can be sent through Chase Bank to the “Andrew Peery” fund for the family of a dead law enforcement officer with “Hugh Martin Fallen Officers Fund” in the note line. Per the sheriff’s office, this is the only authorized fundraiser for Peery’s family.

“Last night in Widefield, Colorado, a six-year veteran and member of the SWAT squad gave his life in the line of duty. Please join me in praying for Deputy Perry’s family and the families of all of our law enforcement personnel.”
