Norman Yoshio Mineta was an American politician. A member of the Democratic Party, Mineta served in President George W. Bush’s Cabinet as the United States Secretary of Transportation, the only Democratic Cabinet Secretary in the Bush administration.
Mineta broke racial barriers for Asian Americans by becoming mayor of San Jose, California early in his political career. He later became the first Asian American to become a federal Cabinet secretary, serving under both Democratic President Bill Clinton and Republican George W. Bush.
The American politician is married to Danealia Mineta. He has two biological children and two stepchildren. Stuart Mineta is one of his biological children. His mother separated from Norman Mineta long before he got married to Danealia.
His mother is May Hinoki who divorced Norman Mineta in 1986. Stuart Mineta’s real brother is David Mineta. His two stepbrothers are Robert and Mark Brantner whose mother is Danealia, Norman’s current wife.
