Nobody Is Coming To My Best Friends Wedding Reddit Story
A Reddit Horror Story titled Nobody is coming to NY best friend’s wedding has gone viral on the internet. The narrator starts the story by mentioning that her best friend, Melissa, is getting married. But, out of the 100 people she invited, she was the only one attending.
The other 99 people did not respond either yes or no after receiving the invitation she had sent. She even called and texted everyone to check if they had received the invitation, but they ignored her.
Melissa told her two weeks before the wedding that her fiance was missing. Since she had not met her fiance, Seth, who was said to be on a business trip and was scheduled to return one week before the wedding, she believed the story.
Melissa told her that she had filed a missing report and was also talking to a private detective. Then, a week before the wedding, Melissa showed up at her house and told her that she knew where Seth was and they had to go get him.
Before she could ask where they were going, they were speeding down the highway going out of town. They left the house before the day started and drove until it ended. She had realized that they were going round and round.
She thought Seth was dead and her friend had gone crazy because of it. Melissa was speeding, and she thought it would be the end for her. After some time, Melissa stopped the car in front of a house where a girl was smoking on the porch.
Melissa told her that Seth was in that house and his life was in danger. She said they had to help Seth and get him out of that house. She said she could probably take down the girl, but Melissa told her there was a whole gang, and the girl was also one of the members.
After that, the story continues with a scene at the diner where they had stopped to get some food. By that time, they had returned to the town. The storyteller shared how her legs were shaking, thinking about what they had done.
The two met Melissa’s cousin in the diner, who offered to drop them home. The cousin dropped Melissa home first and then offered to give a ride to the narrator. She tried to refuse first, but he insisted on driving her back home. She pretended to get in the car but then ran away while he chased after her.
Luckily, she hid in a dumpster until he gave up and left. After that, on the day the wedding was supposed to happen, Melissa showed up at her house and asked her to join her family, who was having a BBQ party.
Although she had seen how Melissa had lied to her about Seth being in danger and the girl being a part of a gang, she went to meet her family. There was no gang nor Seth but a girl in an empty house, and there was so much blood.
Nonetheless, she wanted to see what her family was like, so she went to the BBQ party. There, she found that Seth had died three years ago in an accident. Melissa’s mother said that her daughter was driving the vehicle, they had an accident, and Seth died in the impact.
There Melissa admitted to having killed Seth and waited three years to kill the girl who allegedly had an interest in him. Instead, she wanted revenge on the girl.
She was shocked to find out what her best friend had done, but she still could not hate her. Her cousin, whom they had met on the day of killing the girl, revealed that he had recorded a confession of Melissa’s crime.
But, when they went to her apartment to confront her again, police were everywhere. Melissa died after she had driven her car into the parking garage wall.
Towards the end of the story, she and Melissa’s cousin has gotten married. They do not talk about the incident anymore, revealing that Melissa was killed by her cousin. Melissa had killed his dog when he was young. But he had also helped her kill her fiance.
The two also talk vaguely about secretly being in love with her.
Melissa’s Wedding Details
Melissa’s wedding was a setup as per the story. She sent invitations to 100 people, but except for her best friend, the other 99 did not respond to her.
Firstly, it is shown that she could not get over the trauma of losing her fiance in an accident, and she kept on thinking that he was alive and would prepare for the wedding every year.
However, later the main character finds out that Melissa was evil. She had pretended to act crazy after killing her fiance.
