NIGERIA FORMER NATIONAL ANTHEM LYRICS IN ENGLISH

Stanza 1

Nigeria we hail thee,

Our own dear native land,

Though tribe and tongue may differ,

In brotherhood we stand,

Nigerians all, and proud to serve

Our sovereign Motherland.

Stanza 2

Our flag shall be a symbol

That truth and justice reign,

In peace or battle honour’d,

And this we count as gain,

To hand on to our children

A banner without stain.

Stanza 3

O God of all creation,

Grant this our one request,

Help us to build a nation

Where no man is oppressed,

And so with peace and plenty

Nigeria may be blessed.

December God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria

When he was offered the position at the Columbus Zoo in 1978 the grounds of the zoo were unkempt and the facilities run down. From 1981-83, Hanna hosted a local television program, “Hanna’s Ark”, which aired on the local CBS affiliate in Columbus. Hanna’s live animal demonstrations on “Good Morning America” and both of David Letterman’s talk show incarnations brought national attention to the Columbus Zoo as well as to Hanna himself. Over the course of Hanna’s tenure as director, the zoo made the transition from cage-like enclosures to habitat environments, and the annual attendance of the Columbus Zoo increased by over 400% during this time.
