Nigella Lawson, Honourable Nigella Lawson, Honourable Nigella Lucy Lawson is an English journalist, presenter, television personality, gourmet, and food writer who was born on January 6, 1960. She is the daughter of former Chancellor of the Exchequer Nigel Lawson and Vanessa (née Salmon) Lawson, whose family founded J. Lyons and Co., a food and catering company. Lawson began his career as a book reviewer and restaurant critic after graduating from Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford University, and went on to become the deputy literary editor of The Sunday Times in 1986.

 She subsequently went on to work as a freelance journalist, contributing to a variety of publications. How to Eat, her debut cookbook, was published in 1998 and went on to sell 300,000 copies, making it a best-seller. How to Be a Domestic Goddess, her second book, was published in 2000 and earned her the British Book Award for Author of the Year. Nigella Bites, her own culinary programme on Channel 4, premiered in 1999, and was followed by another best-selling cookbook. Lawson received a Guild of Food Writers Award for Nigella Bites, but her 2005 ITV daytime talk programme Nigella was panned by critics and was cancelled due to poor ratings

In 2006, she presented Nigella Feasts on the Food Network in the United States, followed by Nigella’s Christmas Kitchen on BBC Two in the United Kingdom, which led to the commissioning of Nigella Express on BBC Two in 2007. Living Kitchen, her own cookware line, is worth £7 million, and she has sold more than 3 million recipe books worldwide.
