Nicole Scherzinger was the lead singer of The Pussycat Dolls before she retired to pursue a solo career. The talented singer certainly has quite a few hits to her name, both as part of the group and as an individual artist. You can read more about her journey to stardom below.

Nicole Scherzinger’s Bio (Age, Ethnicity)

Nicole Scherzinger was born on June 29, 1978 and was given the full name Nicole Prescovia Elikolani Valiente. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii but grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. She fell in love with music at an early age, particularly Whitney Houston, and focused entirely on performing.

She therefore went to a performing arts school and after graduation went to Wright State University to study theater and dance. She left school early to start her career when she got the opportunity to support the rock group Days of the New. In 2001, she appeared on the WB television series Popstars , where she won the lead role as a singer in the soon-to-be-formed all-girl band Eden’s Crush. The group’s first single Get Over Yourself actually deserves a Billboard chart presence, but the group failed to find further success after that particular single. The group members soon went their separate ways.

Nicole Scherzinger would get another chance to dominate as part of a group when she stepped in as the lead singer for the newly formed group called the Pussycat Dolls. The group found success almost immediately with their first record, featuring hits such as Stickwitu , Non Cha and Keys . The album went double platinum in the US and sold over 9 million copies worldwide.

Nicole Scherzinger continued to build her profile outside of the group by performing with other big names in the industry such as Timbaland and 50 Cent. The Pussycat Dolls released their second album Doll Reign in 2008, the album was still quite good, if not as good as its predecessor. It included such hits as I hate this part and When I grow up . Nicole Scherzinger left the Pussycat Dolls in 2009 after rumors of fights surfaced within them.

Nicole Scherzinger didn’t wait before making a move as a solo artist. Her first single Jai Ho recorded for the film Slumdog Millionaire (2008) hit number one in seventeen countries. In 2010, she became a contestant on ABC’s Dancing with the Stars and was the eventual series winner. She was named as Cheryl Cole’s permanent replacement for the American edition of The X Factor in 2011, joining fellow judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul and LA Reid.

Nicole Scherzinger has a pretty strong image as a sex symbol and is considered one of the sexiest women on the planet. VH1 ranked her number eight among the 100 sexiest artists. FHM has also included the singer on their list of the 100 sexiest women since 2006. She posed semi-nude for a T-shirt titled “Protect the Skin You’re In” in July 2013. This was part of a campaign by Marc Jacobs the Fashion Designer to raise awareness and money for melanoma research.

Nicole Scherzinger has done a lot over the years. She was at one point engaged to 311 lead singer Nick Hexum, who she dated from 2000 to 2004. Their engagement never quite ended in marriage, and in 2007 Nicole Scherzinger got into a high profile relationship with Lewis Hamilton, the Formula 1 World Champion. They met in 2007 at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Munich. Their relationship was regularly reported in the British press and they were on the road a lot. They last broke up in February 2015.

In 2015, she started dating Grigor Dimitrov, the Bulgarian tennis player. In January 2016, they went public with their relationship, after which they nearly split in May 2016, but managed to get over the difficulties their relationship had caused. The two, who share a thirteen-year age gap with Nicole Scherzinger being the older, are still going strong.
