A 22-year-old woman was discovered dead in front of a home on Newmarket’s Prospect Street. She was recognized as Nicole Mercer, and the bullet wound was the reason for her death.
The inquiry into the mysterious death in Newmarket last week has been classified as a homicide. She received emergency care and was transported to the hospital but was later declared dead.
A post-mortem test determined the manner of death to be a shot, and YRP is asking any eyewitnesses who have not yet talked with detectives to do so.

Nicole Mercer, 22, a Toronto resident, was killed on July 29 at around 1:30 in the morning at a home close to Gorham Street. Her relatives have not yet provided any information on her obituary so far.
As reported by the police, she was shot there and transferred to the hospital by emergency personnel, where she eventually passed away. People in the area are fearful and depressed since an Ontario woman died due to gunshot violence.
Officers were initially asked to assist with a wounded person, but when they reached, they saw Mercer receiving medical attention from emergency personnel, as per Newmarket Today‘s official website.

Nicole Mercer, a young mother who was killed in a murder in Newmarket last week, leaves behind a small son who means it all to her, stated her cousin.
A family member of the Toronto native Nicol, Morgan Hopper, talked to Global News on Tuesday about her sister’s passing. She claimed that when the victim was killed, she and a few other individuals were at a residence.
Hopper said that Mercer was wonderful and kind and that all she wanted to do was be a mom. However, her gorgeous child’s name and age haven’t been made public.
She claimed that although her deceased sister had previously battled addiction issues, she had recovered, was now employed, and had her own place and car.
Nicole Mercer Death: Is The Murderer Arrested?
According to York Regional Police, Nicole Mercer’s killing was strange, and her murderer has not yet been identified or apprehended.
Additionally, they are calling anyone in the neighborhood who may have body cam or private video Cctv footage that contains any unusual behavior to step forward.
Officers have been present near Prospect and Gorham streets since this morning’s early hours, though York Regional Police have not yet provided any information on the investigation’s progress.
