A Look At Nicole Lapin’s Family
Nicole Lapin is the daughter of a scientist, Ron Lapin, and a beauty queen, Orly Lapin.
Ron Lapin, an Israeli-born American surgeon, was famous in medical circles for being a bloodless surgeon for his willingness to perform surgeries on Jehovah’s Witness patients without blood transfusions.
Lapin did these bloodless surgeries through electric scalpels, which reduced blood loss during surgery, and was a big promoter of the tool, teaching people how to use it, alongside other techniques that make bloodless surgery successful.
Lapin completed medical school in New York City and established a practice in Orange County, California, in the 1970s, practicing and living there until he passed.
Lapin became a favorite of many Jehovah’s Witness patients for his practice of bloodless surgeries, which he had been interested in since the mid-1970s.
Soon after he performed his first surgery, many Jehovah’s Witness patients came to him for surgery around the world.
Due to the success of his bloodless surgeries, he opened several bloodless Surgery centers in Southern California and hospitals in Norwalk, Bellflower, and Fountain Valley.
Lapin was a tireless advocate of non-blood medical management throughout his life.
Due to his tireless advocacy, a Japanese pharmaceutical firm chose Lapin in 1980 to operate on Jehovah’s Witness patients using an artificial blood substitute, Fluosol DA, but with conditional FDA approval. The surgery proved a big success.
Lapin faced persecution throughout his life for publicly challenging and deriding conventional medical practices for being substandard and unacceptable.
Lapin’s early advocacy of bloodless surgery, viewed as radical then, soon became seen in a new light after the outbreak of blood-borne AIDS infections. Despite being publicly beloved, the opinion of other medical professionals notwithstanding, for his advocacy and forward-thinking in medicine, Lapin’s personal life was rife with terror.
He went through a bitter divorce in the late 1980s, where his wife, actress, and model Orly Lapin, alleged that Lapin had abused her and her daughter Nicole. Orly stated that she ran away from home with her children to keep them safe from Ron Lapin.
Tabloid newspapers ate up the divorce. Ron Lapin was later acquitted of all allegations.
He passed away on May 16, 1995.

Nicole Lapin is not married but is engaged to her fiance Joe Sanberg, with whom she lives in Los Angeles.
Joe Sanberg is an American investor and Entrepreneur who co-founded Aspirantion, Inc. Aspriration, Inc is an online investing and banking firm and an early investor of Blue Apron, a meal delivery service.
Sanberg has also founded CalEITC4Me, an outreach program based in California that helps low-income families claim state and federal earned income tax credits.
Like Lapin, Sanberg was born and raised in Southern California. He studied at Anaheim Servite High School and graduated from Harvard University. After college, Sanberg went to work on Wall Street, where he earned enough to feel monetarily secure.
However, as he was uneasy working in an industry that divorced service from profit, Sanberg shifted to investing in startups like Blue Apron and Aspiration.com.

Sanberg also serves on the Jefferson Awards Foundation’s Board of Governors. The organization engages with over a million youth annually through volunteer programs and public services.
People called Sanberg the spark for creating the CalEITC4Me and his leadership in 2015 toward California launching an Earned Income Tax Credit.
Sanberg has often considered a political career, and the media reported in 2018 that Sanberg had considered a presidential run in 2020. Most recently, Sanberg led an initiative in the 2022 California elections to raise the minimum wage to $18 per hour and has received over a million signatures.
According to Sanberg, the idea is wildly popular and has amassed over 60% support.
