Nick Vujicic Parents – Family
Vujicic was born to Serbian immigrants from Yugoslavia. Their names are Dušanka and Borislav Vujičić. Nick has two siblings, a sister by the name Michelle Vujicic and a brother named Aaron Vujicic. When he was born, he was found to have arms and legs that were not fully formed as a result of tetra-amelia. In his autobiography, he describes how his mother refused to see him or hold him when the nurse held him in front of her. Eventually, his parents “accepted the condition and understood it as “God’s plan for their son.”
He has two small feet that are deformed. He calls one his “chicken drumstick” because of its shape. He was born with the toes of that foot fused but he underwent surgery to separate the toes so that he could use them as fingers to grab, turn a page, and any other thing. He uses his foot to operate a mobile phone, an electric wheelchair and a computer. He does not fail to mention that he had an “amazingly normal childhood” though he attempted suicide.
Nick Vujicic Achievements
He was bullied in his teen and as a young adult but that did not stop him from thriving. At the age of 17, his mother showed him a newspaper talking about a man who was dealing with a severe disability. This prompted Vujicic to begin giving talks at his prayer group.
In 2005, he founded an international non-profit organisation and ministry by the name Life Without Limbs. He also founded Attitude is Altitude, a secular motivational speaking company, in 2007. He had a starring role in the 2009 short film The Butterfly Circus. For his performance as Will, he was awarded Best Actor in a Short Film at the 2010 Method Fest Independent Film Festival. In August 2011, Attitude is Altitude released a single and music video by Vujicic called “Something More”.
