When Nicholas Billingham’s death was discovered on the grounds of the property he lived with Beal, Billingham had been on the missing person list.
His girlfriend’s name was Fiona Beal. Fiona was a primary school teacher who has been charged with the murder of her boyfriend, Nicholas.
Although Nicholas was highly assumed the victim, it took several days for police to authenticate the body’s identification and the eventual cause of death.
The revelation has left Eastfield Academy in Northampton, where Beal taught a year six class,’ shocked and heartbroken.’
‘We are especially sensitive of the impact this news will have on the children and will do all we can to help both pupils and staff as we work through this difficult period together,’ the school said.
‘This is a tragedy that will rock our school community to its core, and it is at times like these we must gather around one another, support one another, and be nice to one another.’
Nicholas was 42 years old at his death, and his killer, his girlfriend, was 48 years old.
Why Was Northampton Teacher Fiona Beal Arrested?
Nicholas Billingham, Fiona Beal’s boyfriend, was murdered, and she was arrested. Last week, Fiona was seen in court wearing a grey sweater. Fiona’s counsel did not file a bail application.
After digging up the corpse early last week, Fiona was detained at a hotel in Cumbria on Wednesday, 200 miles from her home. On the street where Nicholas’s body was discovered, neighbors expressed their amazement at the shocking finding.
‘The person who lived there helped me out approximately two years ago moving the car through the ice,’ said one homeowner who did not want to be identified.
Another neighbor stated that Nicholas and Fiona had relocated to the home in 2020 and had a daughter together since then. ‘Nicholas had struggled to find a job during the epidemic, so I gave him some work,’ they said.
‘From my house, I can see his garden.’ It’s simply mud puddles.’ Eastfield Academy parents have also expressed their shock at Fiona’s murder allegation.
Over the last few days, police officials in the region have been conducting house-to-house inquiries.
“We are appealing for anyone with information to contact Northamptonshire Police on 101, referencing incident number 26 of March 16, 2022,” police officials added.
