NFL Sunday Ticket blackout map covers Chicago, Indianapolis, Foxborough, and New Jersey for Week 7 if the tickets do not sell out before 72 hours.
The National Football League adopted a policy to restrict the broadcast of local games in the state where the match will take place if the target of the ticket sales is not reached.
Also, those Sunday afternoon games that are scheduled to air on the local Fox and CBS channels that are within the designated market of the subscriber used to be blacked out prior to the 2015 season.
Although the league suspended the rules on a yearly basis in 2015, YouTube TV which has recently acquired the rights to the Sun Ticket can still impose blackouts as mentioned in their terms and conditions.
So those games that are happening on the viewer’s local market are likely to be restricted from broadcasting and the service providers will determine this according to your Zip code in the billing address.
The concept came in 1998 and is still prevalent in the market. This was actually a strategic step taken by the league to boost ticket sales as the locals are more likely to witness the game being present in the stadium in real-time.

NFL Sunday Ticket Blackout Rules
NFL Sunday Ticket blackout rules state that any unsold home market games before 72 hours of the match will be restricted in the local market.
Similarly, the rule also speaks in favor of restricting the broadcast of such games that are to be aired on local television channels of the viewers which include Fox and CBS affiliates. The provision has been in practice since 1988.
Viewers are required to watch those games in their local market channels only. YT TV after acquiring rights to broadcast Sunday afternoon games via Ticket, has set terms that restriction is still possible if the ticket sales don’t meet the target seventy-two hours prior to the kickoff.
The TV makes use of the billing address Zip Code that you have provided while subscribing to the plan and will control the local broadcast depending on the location. Besides, they can also use your device’s location if you are located outside your home.
The League brought in the rule so that football fans within the state where the match is taking place will be physically present at the stadium which will definitely boost up the ticket sales giving the organizers a handsome figure of income.
