NFL Salute to Service 2023 schedule is set to begin from Week 9 through Week 11. Jets will play the Chargers in November to honor the military veterans.
The National Football League is always upfront when it comes to honoring the service of the veterans, service members, and their families. It is one of their such step to recognize and show the highest gratitude towards those members of the United States.
With a motive of empowering, connecting, and honoring these groups of the nation, the NFL runs almost a month-long honorary-themed games in the fall of its regular season where the franchises work on their best to fulfill the purpose of the campaign.
There are several organizations that partner with the League for the Cause including United Service Organizations (USO), the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS), and Pat Tillman Foundation (PTF).
The league also raises funds to help the war military victims and their family members and has already raised more than $65 million for those partners associated with the campaign.
The campaign is observed a week before the Veterans Day which occurs on November 11 every year. This is a federal holiday in the United States in honor of the military veterans of the USAF.
Salute To Service 2023 Games
Salute to Service games for the 2023 season officially kick off from the Steelers vs. Titans match set to occur on 3 November. This will mark its beginning.
Each of the franchises will dedicate one of their home games in the campaign where they will put on everything to reflect the honorary theme. Beginning from week 9 the teams can decide upon which home game to put forward in support of the program.
More than just a game, this has been a tradition in the National Football League where teams not only play matches putting on military-themed gear but celebrate the veteran’s service with great respect.
The League on the other hand also support the partners to raise funds so that those affected service members including their family can be served in return for what they have done for the country.
This is their first step in helping the wounded warriors rediscover their inner strength, maintain their mental and psychological well-being, and live a purposeful life on their own terms.
With the aim of liberating positive impacts on the national heroes of America the NFL through the campaign games tries its best to improve the independence of the wounded soldiers and promote their prosperity within the community.
Salute To Service Showdown 2023
NFL in coordination with the United Services Organization (USO) made a decision to organize an honorary tournament in Madden 24 beginning on the 1st of September.
This was the part of the campaign that would allow active duty, reserve, and National Guard members of the United States military to compete in the latest edition of Madden NFL 24 showdown.
The tournament will run between September and November of the current season. This is actually the third edition of the Showdown where all members of The Americas, the Pacific, and the EMEA have been participating.
The final 8 players after the qualifier round will travel to Dallas on USO’s accommodation and witness the Cowboys vs. Giants campaign-themed game on November 12.
The final two tournament winners will get the opportunity to go to the Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas in 2024. The winners will be given two tickets each.
NFL Salute to Service History
The campaign was an initiative of the NFL along with the official partner USAA. it was incepted in 2011 with a motive to honor and appreciate military veterans.
This includes active duty military, veterans, and their families where the collaborative organizations are dedicated to creating unique opportunities to bring these communities closer to the NFL.
Among a number of events in the past, the first partner USAA hosted several NFL Boot Camps in various military installations across the world where the members participated in various drills similar to those of the NFL Combine and other ticket giveaways.
The campaign has also featured several games including ribbon football, camouflage equipment for players, and more. Dallas Cowboys Salute To Service 2023
The Cowboys are all set to play in the recognition of the service-themed game this season on 12 November. The team will host the New York Giants in Dallas.
It is the team’s tradition to observe and celebrate the whole week that leads to the veteran’s day. In the 2022 season, the campaign week included a special Halloween Trick-Or-Treat Tour of The Star for military and veteran families in Frisco and access to the National Medal of Honor Viewing Center where the live event of a Character Playbook was organized.
Besides, the My Cause My Cleats campaign for the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation was also organized. The team further hosted a baby shower event for 20 military moms to be at The Star in Frisco.
Moreover, the franchise also focuses on organizing career development workshops and job fairs for veterans and military spouses, merges vets and MVPs, hosts military days at training camps, and sends its “American Sweethearts” cheerleading team on USO Tours to spread goodwill at both national and international level.
Jets Salute To Service
Jets is one of the prime contributors in the NFL’s campaign of recognizing military and veteran service to the nation. The team will face the Los Angeles Rams on 6 November in the honor-to-service game.
The squad is also set to go with My Cause My Cleats campaign on 3 December and Inspire the Change on 24 December. The Jets are also giving a tribute to the first responders in its battle against the Houston Texans on 10 December.
In the past, the team has organized various programs in respect of the veterans including Private Inside the Jets Show for families of military, military flag football matches, and donations to Long Island Cares a non-profit organization that helps challenges faced by returning soldiers, and their families.
The team has also sent care packages to military bases all over the world, a special surprise package for the Gold Star family, invited service members for breakfast, and accompanied them to the team’s practice center and more.
Packers NFL Salute To Service
The Green Bay Packers are set to play their honor-to-military match this November and will have a number of events to recognize the contribution of the national heroes.
In 2022, the team collaborated with Fleet Arms to recognize the services of the veterans and military members through a wide variety of programs including fundraising, veteran members and military discounts, gameday features, and alumni visits.
The squad raised funds for a non-profit nonprofit organization named Patriot K9s of Wisconsin through the sales of a limited edition of the Packers bandana. The money then went to an organization based in Wausau that educates and trains psychiatric service dogs to help veterans.
49ers Salute To Service 2023
The San Francisco 49ers have been actively participating in the NFL’s campaign and dedicating its home game this season in November.
For 2022, in a game on 13 November, the team hosted a national flag-holding ceremony prior to the start of their match where the participants were the service members and veterans from all military branches across the nation at Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara, California.
As the military members and veterans presented the flag, the American national anthem was played in the background to honor their patriotism.
The team has been organizing training camps in community corners for military appreciation, inviting service dogs to practices, and SF to Military campaign over the years.
NFL Salute To Service 2023 Gear
The franchises across the League have introduced camouflage-themed Hoodies, Jerseys, and Hats to wear during the games to celebrate Veterans Day.
Various Sideline T-shirts, new-era hats, knit caps, Legend T-shirts, and others can be found at the online store. The New Era hat consists of an embroidered logo at the front and a campaign patch at the back. This is available for all 32 teams in stretch fit design.
