NFL primetime games schedule 2023 starts off week one with match between Lions and Chiefs on NBC. It is the beginning of Thursday Night Football 2023.
Prime time NFL games are the most attractive ties that bring everyone to the screen for a single game. This is when a single game is televised in the entire nation.
The fixture of 8.15 p.m. is considered the time when the viewer rating is highest. The league commences the ties for that duration on three different days: Sunday, Monday, and Thursday.
The prime-time football production started in 1987 and was broadcasted on ESPN. Every Sunday, the program would entertain millions of spectators at home.
NBC attained Sunday Night primetime rights in 2006. A change in idea from the networking company gave birth to Monday Night football.
In 2023, there are 54 matches scheduled to be telecasted during the peak time when no other football tie is happening. The likes of Chris Berman, Wendi Nix, Ryan Clark, and others will once again help everyone navigate through the fixtures.

Can NFL Flex Thursday Night Games
Yes, NFL can flex Thursday Night games. Doing so will shift the tie between losing franchises happening on Thursday.
Over the last few years, the viewership for TNF has not been good enough. Forbes reports that in the 2022-23 season, TNF had 9.6 million average viewers compared to NBC’s 19.9 million, CBS’s 18.5 million, and Fox’s 19.4 million.
The route to flex TNF seems to be the right track to gain spectators. It means that Thursday will get more fixtures than usual so that audience can get used to the schedule.
The model will permit Sunday games to be played on Thursday from week 14 onwards. It will also require a 15-day prior notice.
The league tabled the idea at the NFL owners’ meeting in March. USA Today reported that Kansas City Chiefs were in favor of the decision.
Likewise, the new policy has initiated two ties for back-to-back Thursdays when there are shot weeks. The pressure on players and coaches increases by flexing and shifting the already-designed schedule. But the league thinks otherwise and has to look at the monetary aspects too.
