NFL’s ownership regulation requires that an owner holds a minimum of 30% stake in the team.
NFL forbids ownership groups of over 24 people and discourages publicly traded corporations from purchasing NFL teams. Because of these regulations, people have veered from this promising position.
One of the many questions sports fanatics have asked is whether there are any NFL black owners.
The Black community is yet to produce an NFL owner. However, there are currently two minority NFL owners namely Shahd Kahn, a Pakistani American who owns the Jacksonville Jaguars and one of the richest NFL owners, and Kim Pegula, who is Asian American and co-owns the Buffalo Bills.
Lesser Black representation in NFL ownership has been attributed to lack of representation in that there are no black legacies to assume such positions.
Meanwhile, negotiations are currently ongoing to make the NFL ownership regulation flexible enough to encourage African American representation.
