Neyi Zimu Biography
Neyi Zimu born Moses Gcinumuzi was a South African musician and pastor. He hails from Small Farm, in the Vaal.
His works date as far back as 1996 where he started as the former founder and member of Family Factory and Joyous Celebration. This association saw him branch off into several other collaborations and involvements with a variety of artists over the years, until eventually, Neyi released his long-awaited solo Gospel album ‘ Excited’, in 2001 featuring renowned musician, Concorde Nkabinde and Jazz Duo ‘ Tsunami’
Following the success of ‘Excited’ Neyi went on to release his 2nd a and 3rd album ‘ Ena ke Nako’. in 2003 and “Message” in 2007 respectively.
Among Neyi’s successes are anointed songs like “Lamb of God”, “Higher Higher”, “Come as you are”, “Hamba Name” and “Lord we worship You”.
Neyi had shared the stage with the likes of The Manhattans (during their South African tour) Sibongile Khumalo, Benjamin Dube, the late Wendy Mseleku, Vuyo Mokoena, and Rebecca Malope.
Neyi was also a pastor and founder of the All Nations Revival Ministries in Midrand, from where he serves his congregation loyally.

Neyi had featured on the platinum-selling project “Healing in His presence” led by the legend Benjamin Dube.

Neyi Zimu Death
Gospel singer and pastor Neyi Zimu has died not long after his family revealed that he was battling skin cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.
Zimu, was a pastor at All Nation Revival Ministries and news of this death comes not long after his wife Nelisiwe Sibisi-Zimu revealed that her husband was battling mycosis and was admitted at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital where he was undergoing chemotherapy.
Spirit of Praise, which is a gospel ensemble comprising different singers one of which was Zimu, confirmed on their Twitter account that he died on Wednesday.
Last month Sibisi-Zimu said the 49-year-old hitmaker started having skin problem where he developed a rash that was itchy.
Speaking to the press, Zimu said at the time: “He went on light light therapy and we realised that it was not giving us results. We decided to involve oncology and he has just started chemotherapy.
“The higher stage treatment of the disease is chemotherapy,” she said.
The news website also reported that earlier in the year his skin started showing changes and he’d appear in public and onstage wearing gloves.
The changes soon started to show on his face too, but he kept on performing even as his condition worsened.
When news of Zimu’s death broke, his fans took to social media to express their sadness and disbelief.
Others spoke of how his music touched them and pulled them from dark periods of their lives.
Neyi Zimu Funeral
The gospel star was lied to rest at Kromvlei Cemetery in Alberton, east of Johannesburg.
The Lamb of God singer was also honored at a memorial service over the weekend at the Change Bible Church, in Katlehong, near Johannesburg. The moving service was also attended by gospel greats, such as Rebecca Malope, Ayanda Ntanzi, and Pastor Benjamin Dube.
Zimu’s funeral service will take place on Wednesday 11 December 2019 at the House of Treasures Ministries in Rispark, Johannesburg, with the burial at Kromvlei Cemetery, in Alberton.
Zimu died at the Busamed Hospital after a two-year battle with skin cancer. His wife, Nelisiwe, said he had undergone treatment, including chemotherapy.
She had previously spoken about her husband’s resilience, saying he had fought until the end and continued singing and delivering sermons at his church, All Nations Revival Ministries, in Midrand which he founded 13 years ago.
