News: Who Is David Venables? Arrested For The Murder Of His Wife Brenda

David Venables has been arrested in the case of murdering his wife, Brenda. The missing report of his wife was reported on May 4, 1982. Her remains were discovered in a septic tank outside the couple’s home in 2019.

The crime that happened a very long time ago has been unwrapped. The trial for the case started on June 13, 2022, at Worcester Crown Court.

Who Is David Venables?

David Venables is a former pig farmer and is presently eighty-nine years old. He married his wife, Brenda Venables, on June 1, 1960.

According to the information provided by Worcester News, the couple moved to Quaking House Farm, Bestmans Lane, Kempsey, after their marriage. They do not have any children. On May 4, 1982, David went to the Worcester Police Station and reported his wife missing.

The police department started to search for his wife as soon as the case was registered. They searched the farm, including the home and barns, his car, and the river. But they did not get any clues.

Later, in 2014, the 89-year-old retired farmer sold his Quaking House Farm to his nephew. While cleaning the septic tank, human remains were found and contacted by police on July 12, 2019.

After the examination, the found remains were confirmed to be the remains of Davis’s wife, who had been missing since 1982.

David Venables Arrested For The Murder Of His Wife Brenda

The police arrested David Venables on the accusation of killing his wife on July 30, 2019. However, he has denied murdering his wife at Worcester Crown Court.

The case trial started on June 13, 2022, at Worcester Crown Court. Prosecutor Michael Burrows QC said in opening the case that the septic tank was the “ideal hiding spot” that allowed Venables to “get away with murder” for decades.

Police investigations at the time, which included deploying a helicopter to survey the surrounding region, checking waterways, conducting door-to-door inquiries, and meeting with friends and relatives, turned up no evidence of Brenda.

She had been depressed before her absence, and some feared she had committed herself.

David Venables Jail Sentence And Mugshot

The trial of the murder case is still going on in Worcester Crown Court. David Venables is accused of killing his wife, Brenda. If Venable is proven guilty, he will face a lifelong jail sentence for murder. He can see the mugshot of an 89-year-old retired farmer.

According to Burrows, David wanted his wife “out of the way” to pursue an affair with Lorraine Styles, whom he met in 1967 while working as a caregiver for Venables’ mother. According to the court, his wife was aware of the pair’s on-again, off-again connection for more than 14 years.

However, David has denied all the claims and stated that he is innocent. He said from the witness stand that he adored his wife, whom he married in June 1960. “I was really concerned about it and quite scared,” he told the jurors, adding, “I’m not a guy to express emotions.”

Defending Venables, Timothy Hannam QC, claimed it would have been an “act of folly” for him to place his wife’s body in the underground room near his house.

Furthermore, the former farmer stated that Brenda may have committed suicide and left no note. Their discussions had already lasted almost seven hours. The trial is still ongoing, and we must wait until the court gives a decision.
